The famous designer Tommaso Spadolini has unveiled the design of the new Montecristo 30 and Montecristo 43.

"The name was inspired by a beautiful island in the Tyrrhenian Sea that I can see from my summer house by the sea," says the Italian designer. “The island of Montecristo is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, but is better known as the setting for the novel" The Count of Montecristo "by Alexandre Dumas".

The two motor cruisers draw on Spadolini’s 40 years as a yacht designer, as well as on the feedback from his international customers. Created as a creative and fun exercise, the Montecristo series is the distillation of this experience that enhances the reputation of the designer who for years has created timeless yachts with clean, sober and essential lines that are both classic and contemporary. Despite the difference in size and volume between the two yachts, the designer managed to keep the same proportions elegantly balanced.

The decisive external design is pure Spadolini. Some features such as the air intake grilles, the dark striped glass and the vertical arch, have a strong family resemblance to his other projects, such as 48 meters Aslec 4 built by Rossinavi. The elegant arches that connect the main and the upper aft decks, on the other hand, are reminiscent of the Freedom 27 meters built by CNN. But these stylistic motifs have been combined with new solutions to create something captivating and different.

The larger yacht has five comfortable guest cabins (3 VIP and 2 singles) on the lower deck, with access from the main aft saloon. The 30 meters is smaller and has two VIP suites in the center of the boat plus a single cabin which is accessed by a central staircase from the main lounge. The 43m has forward accommodation for 6 crew members and a captain’s cabin on the main front deck with direct access to the wheelhouse. The 30m instead can accommodate 5 crew members, including the captain on the lower deck. Both models have a dinette for the crew and the 40m also has a dedicated laundry room.

The main widebody deck on board the 43m is arranged along the port side and includes a large lounge with bar, a separate dining room, the kitchen and the adjacent pantry. The captain’s cabin is opposite the kitchen. The 30 meters has a slightly smaller lounge, the kitchen and pantry and a beamed master cabin are located in the bow with a large walk-in closet and a private lounge.

Notable modern features of both yachts are the terraced aft decks which lead to the bathing platform and the second outdoor room with swimming pool on the bow deck. On the 43m the swimming pool area is right in front of the wheelhouse, while on the 30m it overlooks the mooring station.

Both yachts have a stern section on the glass sun-deck designed to incorporate solar cells to provide auxiliary energy. The engine room is also configured with space for batteries in order to allow silent maneuvers, with zero emissions or low speed cruises in protected waters for limited periods.
